5 Tips to Boost Immunity

No matter what time of year it is, we are always going to be exposed to germs. Now a days, some might even say that those germs have become “super”. Therefore, it is more important now than ever before to adopt preventative measures to stay on the healthy side as much as possible.

There are a few things I do regularly to help my chances of preventing the effects of the crud.

#1 – Be aware of the amounts of sugar you are consuming. I’m no scientist, but I can honestly say that if I consume a lot of sugar (which is generally the case around the holidays), then I’m just asking for the nasty bugs to take me down. I FEEL like my body is just waiting for the inevitable. During times of known exposure, I reduce or remove sugar intake dramatically so as to help my body fight.

#2 – Use immune boosting essential oils. I do this in a number of ways, but for general prevention, this roller is my favorite. Check out my Facebook Live below. (And if you need some oils – ah hem – I’m your girl!)

#3 – Take your vitamins! Let’s face it, we don’t generally eat all the right foods 100% of the time. Which means our body isn’t getting the nutrients it needs to be its best. Supplementation is necessary for most of us. It can be super simple, though! I highly encourage doTERRA’s Livelong Vitality pack and PB Assist probiotic daily. Additional supplements of vitamin C and vitamin D3 are also important for a strong immune system. **Ask me¬†about discounts or specials.

#4 – Eat right! Good supplements by themselves don’t give us the green light to eat naughty foods. Make sure you’re consuming half of your food consumption daily in fresh fruits and veggies. They are loaded with valuable nutrients and fiber, which helps keep our systems (especially our digestive system) running smoothly.

#5 – Drink your water! We are likely exposed to yucky germs on a daily basis, especially if we work with the public. Therefore, your body NEEDS to be able to flush out those germs and it can’t do that without sufficient water intake. Grab your favorite water bottle or set a reminder to take a sip throughout the day. Whatever it takes, be sure to get your water in (half your body weight in ounces is a great start!)

There’s no reason why you can’t ward off the crud more often than not. If you find that you are getting sick often, it could be time to take a hard look at your gut health or perform a cleanse. Doing a simple cleanse quarterly is just like changing the oil in your car and can help keep your body running optimally. It’s also a great (and easy) way to drop a few stubborn pounds.
